Well, as you noticed, this is a blog. It has been created in order to reflect my current work, interests and thoughts and host a modest about page if somebody cares.
Primarily it is here for writing, but sometime I will add a photo stream from my flickr page here as well.
Technical details
Nothing interesting to mention here (yet). The site is powered by Wordpress, MySQL, PHP and Apache. For the photography integration, the FAlbum plugin was used. And on top of all these, I’ve created a simple, custom theme to bind them all together and bear my signature.
Photography
Since I like taking photos, and its become a hobby, the blog serves as a place to promote it. I’ll post a few select pictures I like, and later I’ll decide how I am going to categorize those. In cases that I post edited pictures using Photoshop or other tools, I’ll always include the original (although I try to avoid “touching” pictures). I hope you enjoy them, as much as I enjoyed taking them, and please forgive my amateurism :-).
Categorization
I’ve designed this blog to be as simple as possible, so I tried to reflect that on the blog categories as well. So, I’ve split the blog into 3 categories that fit my life right now. Of course this would change in the future. These three categories are:
-
university
Since I am currently a student, going for a BSc., I’ll have a lot to talk about this. It will include stuff I do here at the university, or perhaps just complaining about it.
-
life
As a part-time human being, sometimes I want to talk about my life. While from previous blog attempts I come to find that I do not like anymore to talk and whine about me and my life, sometimes I have to.
-
work
Most of the stuff I post here would be under this category. They will either have to do with my work at Cablenet or other work assignments that I am keen to discuss with you.
Special thanks
This blog wouldn’t be possible without the feedback of two close friends, Dimitris Glezos and Iacovos Constantinou, who are web design geniuses and interaction specialists. Thanks a lot guys!
